One of the several colleges endorsed by the Assemblies of God, Vanguard University ranked in the top 10 for best comprehensive colleges in the West by "US News and World Report." Fellowship member Murray Dempster serves as president of Vanguard.
Vanguard University makes top 10 list "U.S. News and World Report" placed Vanguard University (A/G) Costa Mesa, California, in the top 10 of the best comprehensive colleges in the West when its rankings were released August 20, 2004. The ranking is based upon many factors including ratings by peer colleges, freshman retention, student-to-faculty ratio, class size, and alumni giving. Vanguard University was ranked in the top tier in the comprehensive college category. It is ranked with other institutions that focus on undergraduate education and offer a range of degree programs. There are 324 comprehensive colleges, ranked within four regions: North, South, Midwest and West. In addition to being named a best comprehensive college, Vanguard University ranked as the 12th most diverse comprehensive college in the West. The university has also maintained its standings with "Princeton Review" as one of the best western colleges for its 2004-2005 rankings. "We are thrilled by this latest ranking of Vanguard," says Vanguard President Murray Dempster.
